Sound Design

My First ever ad read I did. Going back and listening to it now is almost cringe worthy but its a good reminder of where I started. The growth from one project to the next is immediately noticeable. I’m proud to have grown so quickly and learning to mess with the audio was really fun even though I had no idea what I was doing.

Voice Compression and EQ

I learned how to compress voices in a multi-track media in audition. The compressor helps to balance the highs and the lows with having to mess with volume of individual parts. This makes it so that it doesn’t boost sounds that would be in the background like a computer fan or air conditioning and does balance the speakers voice. On the other side there is an equalizer, this helps take out or turn down individual frequencies like a fan giving of the hum throughout the read. It can also help create distortion by taking away the low end or the high end of the voice.

This is an advertisement for the Vancouver Canadians which was given as a project in My first year of Radio Arts & Entertainment program. It’s both my voice and editing. It was exciting doing everything from scratch and learning how to mix it all in audition!
